Philip Hughes

You can make an argument the Philip Hughes is the top pitching prospect in all
of baseball. MILB.com's Top 50 Prospect list he landed at number four, right
behind Homer Bailey. He is listed as the #1 prospect in the Yankees organization
and he sure looks to have quite a good future in baseball. Last year in 146
innings he ended up with an ERA of 2.16 with 168 strikeouts and 34 walks
with Tampa and Trenton. Once he arrives in New York he is going to turn into a
fan favorite. Phil now has a website which is
www.philiphughes.net, which he is
planning to interact with his fans through. He was nice enough to sign a couple
of cards for us c/o his home with a $10 donation and he also answered a few
questions for us. Many people were curious to what he thought about autographs,
so it was a great honor to have Phil answer these few questions for us and his
fans.
How do you feel about
signing autographs in general? Do you ever get tired of signing autographs?
I
enjoy it. Sometimes it can be
exhausting.
Most autograph collectors have a good knowledge
towards the game. Do you feel respected by them or do you feel that they are
using you for an autograph?
I feel honored that someone would like me to
write my name on something.
If you could change one thing about autograph
collectors what would it be and why?
People that turn around and sell auto's. Ruins it
for a lot of collectors.
Do you sign your fan mail or have you ever? And
which would you rather sign an autograph in person or through the mail?
I sign as much mail as I can. I'd rather sign in
person.
If there was one baseball players autograph that
you could have who would it be and why?
Ted Williams. Best hitter in history and a great
person.
