Jon Jay

Jon Jay was selected 74th overall in the 2006 MLB draft by the Cardinals in the 2nd round. Jon played his college ball at Miami University and was named first-team freshman All-American by Baseball America in 2004 as an outfielder. Jon was nice enough to answer a few questions about signing autographs and how he feels about the subject. We wish him the best in his professional career and I am sure we will be hearing his name in a few years.

How do you feel about signing autographs in general? Do you ever get tired of signing autographs?

I don't mind, I feel like I'm giving back to my fans.

Most autograph collectors have a good knowledge towards the game. Do you feel respected by them or do you feel that they are using you for an autograph?

It depends, when you have someone asking for 15 autographs it's a little fishy for the most part I don't feel like I am being used.

If you could change one thing about autograph collectors what would it be and why?

Do you sign your fan mail or have you ever? And which would you rather sign an autograph in person or through the mail?

It doesn't matter to me.

If there was one baseball players autograph that you could have who would it be and why?

Roberto Clemente, he was a role model and a leader off and on the field.
